Bob Mackin Named Chief Executive Officer of Kleinert Kutz
 

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY (August 3, 2009) – Kleinert Kutz, PLLC, has named Bob Mackin to serve as the practice’s Chief Executive Officer, effective July 20, 2009.

Mackin served previously as Vice President of Business Development for Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany, Ind., where he managed business growth, including physician recruitment, physician and hospital relations, contract negotiations with physicians, health plans and employers and marketing/public relations. He also had responsibility for practice operations of the Floyd Memorial Medical Group and the hospital’s urgent care facilities.

In late 2006, he orchestrated an innovative partnership between Kleinert Kutz and Floyd Memorial, creating the region’s first physician/hospital joint venture with the physician group serving as the managing partner.

“In pursuing the joint venture, we got to know Bob and were extremely impressed with his straightforward leadership style and management experience,” said Joseph E. Kutz, M.D. and fellow of the American College of Surgeons. “As we continue to work to meet and respond to the ever-growing needs of patients, we know Bob will be an asset to our practice.”

A native of Illinois, Mackin earned his undergraduate degree in market research from the University of Missouri and his master’s degree in business administration from Southern Illinois University.

Kleinert Kutz Hand Surgeons Perform Fifth U.S. Hand Transplant in Record Time




November 24, 2008. Louisville, KY. Kleinert Kutz and University of Louisville hand surgeons performed the fifth U.S. hand transplant on Massena, New York resident, Jan “Erik” Hondusky, at Louisville’s Jewish Hospital Hand Care Center on Monday, November 24. The innovative procedure began around noon and was completed shortly after 9 p.m. in a record nine hours.

Hondusky, a 43-year-old production worker, injured his dominant right hand in a furnace accident on April 12, 2006 when his hand was crushed and burned thus requiring amputation. Fourth Hand Transplant in US Performed July 12, 2008




July 12, 2008. Louisville, KY. Dave Robert Armstrong, a 32-year-old Upland, California man has joined an elite group of men around the world by receiving a hand transplant today, July 12, 2008. Update Session

The CM Kleinert Institute, along with Jewish Hospital and the Institute for Cellular Therapeutics at the University of Louisville, KY, hosted a "Composite Tissue Allotransplantation (CTA) Update Session" on January 14, 2008, in conjunction with the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery (ASRM) meeting in Beverly Hills, California. Internationally known hand and transplant surgeons and researchers provided updates on immunosuppression strategies in CTA and discussed current status of CTA recipients. This meeting is a followup to the 6th International CTA Symposium held in Tucson, AZ, in January of 2006, and the first followup in January, 2007. Click the link at the left for more information.
